Met-Tile® Now Available in High Performance Aluminum

Met-Tile® is now available in high performance aluminum with an environmentally friendly finish. This is the same popular profile as the standard Met-Tile system. Because of aluminum’s superior resistance to corrosion and wear, it is especially recommended for use in coastal (i.e., salt air) and other corrosive environments.

The aluminum panel system weighs approximately 85 lb. per square (0.85 lb. per sq. ft.), just a fraction the weight of conventional roofing tiles. Yet it offers excellent strength, durability and fire resistance, making it a premium roofing choice. Contact the Met-Tile factory to find out available colors.

Some key benefits of aluminum . . .

  • Aluminum is the most energy efficient roofing material available. It reflects up to 97 percent of radiant heat away from the home or building, reducing the temperatures beneath the roof. Savings in air conditioning costs can be dramatic, particularly in very hot climates.

  • Aluminum is extremely durable and resistant to any type of deterioration. It has been used in construction applications (including roofing) for well over 100 years, and many of the original applications still stand today.

  • Aluminum has a very high strength-to-weight ratio. In fact, a pound of aluminum can replace twice the weight of steel in most structural applications. The use of aluminum components can result in lighter construction and lower substructure costs.

  • Recyclability is another important feature. Aluminum construction products can either be used after dismantling or indefinitely recycled, without any loss of the material’s basic qualities and properties. Aluminum is recycled at a higher rate than most other raw materials.
