- Met-Tile,
Inc. has received confirmation by the National Evaluation Service, Inc. (NES)
at www.nateval.org that the
Met-Tile roofing system complies with the roof covering provisions of the three
U.S. model building codes (BOCA National, ICBO Uniform, and SBCCI Standard) in
addition to the new 2000 International Building and Residential Codes of the International
Code Council. This confirmation, as evidenced in the NES Evaluation Report (NER-278),
provides guidance to code officials faced with approving the use of Met-Tile under
these codes.
- Met-Tile is a cool roof system that meets ENERGY STAR guidelines. (Met-Tile ENERGY STAR® Certification Letter)
| - Met-Tile
meets test requirements for fire retardant roofs, based on Uniform Building Code
Standard #32-7. This is identical to test methods specified in ASTM-108, UL:790
and NFPA #256.
- Wind resistance
is 230+ mph, in accordance with wind uplift test performed by Underwriters Laboratories,
Inc. (File R18816).
- Met-Tile
carries Class A, B and C ratings for new construction (depending on underlayment)
and a Class B rating for reroofing.
- Met-Tile
is also approved by the City of Los Angeles (RR #25352); and by Metro Dade County,
FL (#MDC-75).
