Curveline Introduces Custom-Curved Perforated Metal Panels |
Curveline now has the capability to curve a wide selection of perforated roofing, wall and decking profiles. The curved perforated panels may be used aesthetically and/or functionally in exterior and interior applications to perform natural ventilation, light diffusion, sound control and other functions.
Curved perforated panels are ideally suited to large spaces such as shopping malls and retailing facilities, auto dealerships, airports and transportation depots, educational buildings, parking structures, convention centers and arenas. Together the crimped curves, panel ribs and perforations create a highly dynamic look that is both artistic and high-tech. Used in combination with acoustical batte insulation, the panels also have excellent sound control properties.
Panels suitable for perforating and curving include 20 to 24 GA exposed fastener profiles in depths of 7/8” to 1-1/2” and in a variety of configurations, including standard 7/8” corrugated. Panels are available in painted or unpainted galvanized or Galvalume steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other specialty metals. Spacing and dimensions of the perforated holes may vary, with up to a 40 percent open area.

At the West Point Junior High School, curved
perforated panels were used to create an acoustical treatment in the 2-1/2-story
dining and common area that is the heart of the school. VCBO Architecture (Salt
Lake City) chose perforated “U” panels to carry over a curved motif used on
the exterior of the building. Curveline shaped the perforated wall paneling into
two sections – the larger one convex, the smaller concave. The design
successfully met both functional and aesthetic goals.
