Curveline
can curve structural roof deck panels into S-curves, sine waves and other multiple
radius concave/convex shapes. S-curved roof decks allow architects and designers
to make a bold design statement when creating entryways and lobbies, covered walkways
and concourses, transit stations, parking garages and many other commercial spaces.
Curveline’s crimp-curving methodology greatly increases the strength and
rigidity of profiled metal panels, making it possible to create S-shaped panels
up to 26 ft. long when 20 or 22 GA nestable decking is used, or up to 20 ft. if
18 GA decking is used. The only other options for S-shaped decking are stretch-forming,
which is generally cost-prohibitive; or the application of several shorter panels
to create the “S”, which involves added structural support. The Curveline method
requires minimal substructure and produces optimum aesthetics, making it suitable
even for applications where decking remains exposed on the underside.
Panels suitable for S-curved applications include standard or acoustical nestable
“B” deck panels in 22 to 18 GA steel. A selection of exposed fastener roofing
and siding panels can also be curved in the same manner. Minimum radius varies
depending on the panel gauge and number of curves desired: Consult Curveline regarding
your specific application.
