Dynasty Suites, after Met-Tile installation. |
When hotel owner/builder Anil Patel set out to renovate an old and very dated motel complex in Redlands, California and re-open it as a Dynasty Suites property, he knew that drastic changes would be needed to give the facility a fresh, updated look.
The existing property had a flat built-up roof with little in the way of aesthetic appeal. To create a much more attractive look which dominates the project, Patel and project designer Thomas R. Webb (Riverside, California) elected to build the roof up to a relatively steep pitch and replace the old roof with a Met-Tile system.
Real tile would have been too heavy for the existing structure, explains Patel. Met-Tile has a realistic tile appearance but its made of metal, so its very lightweight and can be used in just about any remodeling or re-roof application. Also, we had used the product in a previous renovation and were very happy with the results. |
The newly renovated property uses over 13,500-sq. ft. of the metal roofing on its two buildings one single-story structure and a two-story structure, both with dormers. Torres Roofing, Inc., Redlands, California, installed the roofs.
Met-Tile has been used for dozens of new and renovated hotel/motel projects due to its unique combination of benefits including light weight, low maintenance, and proven performance in all types of weather conditions. When its used to roof new hotels, Met-Tile can reduce substructure costs, often bringing significant construction cost savings. The product may also be used to re-roof buildings that cant bear the weight of tile, and its designed for easier and more user-friendly installation than some systems.
